FET Certificate: PC Engineering

The Further Education and Training Certificate in PC Engineering is designed to provide learners with knowledge of Computer hardware design and specifications ensuring that computer hardware components work together with the latest software developments as well as to support and fully implement Windows in a networked environment. Learners will be able to perform post installation and day-to-day administration tasks of a processors, circuit boards, memory devices, networks, and routers. By creating new directions in computer hardware, these learners create rapid advances in computer technology.

Duration

The programme duration is 1 year on a full-time basis.

Certification

• Upon successful completion of the whole programme, i.e. competence achieved in the summative assessments, the successful completion of the WIL component, and provided the learners PoE is found competent, the learner will receive a Damelin Results Letter outlining the outcomes covered.
• Damelin will apply to MICT SETA on the learners behalf for the Further Education and Training Certificate: PC Engineering, SAQA ID 21190, NQF level 4 with 120 credits Certificate to be awarded.
• Upon successful completion of the optional external examinations, the learner will receive CompTIA and MCITP Certification at the learners own cost.

Admission Requirements

• Knowledge, comprehension and application of English language at NQF 3/Grade 11 or equivalent.
• Knowledge, comprehension and application of Mathematical Literacy at NQF 3/Grade 11 or equivalent.
• Admission may be subject to an interview with an academic staff member.
