National N Diploma: Engineering Studies (Civil Engineering)

The Civil Engineering programme will enable learners to become involved in the design, construction and maintenance of buildings in residential and industrial as well as public infrastructure such as bridges, roads, canals dams.
Civil Engineering is concerned with maintaining and improving the world around us and increasing the quality of life for present and future generations.

Duration

The programme duration is 2 years on a full-time basis, or 3 years on a part-time basis.

Certification

Upon successful completion of this programme, learners will receive a:

• National Certificate at each Level N1, N2, N3, N4, N5, N6
• National N Diploma in Civil Engineering (on completion of N4-N6 and 24 months in-service training)

Admission Requirements

• N1: A Grade 9 Certificate with a pass in Mathematics and Science;
• N2: National N Certificate: N1: Engineering Studies; or Grade 10 with Mathematics and Physical Science;
• N3: National N Certificate: N2; or Grade 11 with Mathematics and Physical Science/ a Senior Certificate with Mathematics and Physical Science;
• N4: National N Certificate: N3 Engineering Studies or / a Senior Certificate with Mathematics and Physical Science;
• N5: National N Certificate: N4; N6: National N Certificate N5
