National N Diploma: Engineering Studies (Chemical Engineering)

The Chemical Engineering programme is concerned with the manufacturing of chemicals on an industrial scale. It also involves processes that convert raw materials into various products that we use every day through physical, thermal or chemical changes.

Duration

The programme duration is 2 years on a full-time basis, or 3 years on a part-time basis.

Certification

Upon successful completion of this programme, learners will receive a:

• National Certificate at each Level N1, N2, N3, N4, N5, N6
• National N Diploma in Chemical Engineering (on completion of N4-N6 and 24 months in-service training)

Admission Requirements

• N1: A Grade 9 Certificate with a pass in Mathematics and Science;
• N2: National N Certificate: N1: Engineering Studies; or Grade 10 with Mathematics and Physical Science;
• N3: National N Certificate: N2; or_Grade 11 with Mathematics and Physical Science/ a Senior Certificate with Mathematics and Physical Science;
• N4: National N Certificate: N3 Engineering Studies or / a Senior Certificate with Mathematics and Physical Science;
• N5: National N Certificate: N4; N6: National N Certificate N5
